| As is our practice, we will hold elections for the new IRSCL board at
the congress in Kyoto this August. All members are entitled to nominate
candidates - and self nomination is acceptable. It is important that
anyone who agrees to stand for the board realises that there is very
little financial support for attending meetings; being on the board is a
self-financing, volunteer position. Having said that, working on the
board is also deeply rewarding and crucial to the success of the
Society.
Members of the board attend one meeting a year and the biennial
congress. Most of the work is conducted by email so anyone who stands
for the board must have regular access to email. Here follow the
necessary forms for nominating candidates to stand as President, for the
board, and to deputise another member to cast a proxy vote on your
behalf. Forms, which can also be found below, should be sent
