Every
two years the IRSCL organizes a congress at which scholars
from all over the world have the opportunity to meet
each other, to exchange ideas and to initiate collaborations.
Each
congress has a theme relevant to current research in
the field of children's literature studies. Congresses
also provide formal and informal opportunities for shaping
the direction of the subject and influencing academic
policy. Papers are read in English and the language
of the host country.
